Our Story
We are deeply inspired by the cultural and textile heritage of United Arab Emirates and try to promote the rich UAE textile heritage through our work, while making a social impact.
All our products lovingly handcrafted by women artisans from the countries in crisis use the ‘sadu’ weave – which is included by UNESCO in the list of intangible cultural heritage in need of urgent safeguarding. This is our bit towards preserving and promoting the textile heritage of UAE.
At The Social Souk, we believe that every handmade piece has the power to tell a story — a story of resilience, culture, and connection. We believe that craft is more than a skill; it’s a bridge between heritage and hope, tradition and transformation.
We believe that empowering women through dignified work not only changes individual lives — it uplifts entire communities. We believe in preserving the rich textile traditions of the UAE and the Middle East by celebrating them in every thread, pattern, and stitch.
We believe that conscious choices can shape a more inclusive, sustainable world — and that every purchase can make a difference. Above all, we believe in crafting products with soul, purpose, and impact.
Join us in celebrating heritage, empowering artisans, and making every item count.
